Sacred Sounds Album

A musical collection of Illuminating Vedic hymns, Tantric dhāranās & Sanskrit prayers.

Mantras are sacred words. Chanting mantras creates sacred sounds. These sacred sounds illuminate our mind; they transport us beyond the limits of our finite body to the infinite realm of spirit.

This album was born unexpectedly, spontaneously, with flow and great ease.

I was asked to offer something in this time of great uncertainty, rapid change, despondency, fear and isolation from the COVID-19 pandemic. I offered the Laghunyāsaḥ mantra, a healing mantra that is especially for our spiritual heart. This mantra reminds us that infinite consciousness resides within each of our hearts and in this way we are always connected as one eternal heart.

My friend, Scott Mitchell, multi-instrumentalist and Sound Engineer heard the mantra and was inspired to produce it. Scott then asked if he could record me chanting more mantras. He had a vision that he wanted to ‘play’ with. This is his sound creation with my voice, my love for mantra and my passion for sharing sacred sounds.

Chanting sacred mantras is my love, my daily dedication, me harmonising myself with ancient voices and the vibrations of the cosmos. Although my practice is mostly solo, when I chant mantra I feel whole, connected, expanded and infinite.

As a yogini I have taught and shared mantras over the last 30 years of teaching yoga.

I hope these sacred sounds illuminate your mind and heart as they do mine.
